Every woman, it seems, has a shoe fetish. We just love collecting shoes! For some, shoe shopping has become an expensive stress-reliever. But isn’t it a bummer to walk out of the store with an expensive pair that don't fit quite right when you try it at home? Here are some tips on shoe shopping that will keep every girl’s inner Imelda happy!
The best time to shop for shoes is late in the day, after your feet have swollen to their largest size. Wear socks or hosiery that you will be wearing with the shoes to know if the pair is too tight or too loose. Stand up and wiggle your toes to see if the fit is right. Also check your heel to make sure it isn't too loose. If your heel slips, the shoe is a tad too big for you.
Walk around the store to make sure they feel comfortable when you are walking. If they feel funny or you can’t keep your balance, just put them back on the rack and prevent the risk of falling flat on your face. Don't assume you'll be able to "break in" a pair of shoes. If they don't fit well in the store, they won't fit well outside of the store. Don't waste money on names. Some of the most expensive shoes feel incredibly uncomfortable. And always check the sales. You might find that strappy stilettoes you’ve been looking for, at half the price.
