Sex and the City: The Most Anticipated Summer Movie of 2008

I can't wait for the Sex and the City movie which is slated to be shown on May 28th. I've been an avid fan of the HBO series since it began its run in 1998. The plot is simple: four beautiful, single and successful women talking about their sex lives (or lack thereof), friendships, careers, heartbreaks and relationships in the Big Apple. But more than the plot, the humor, the fashion (though some are totally outrageous!) and the beautiful background that is New York City, I got hooked because I can relate to the stories of these women and the situations they find themselves in. I love the sitcom even more because it depicts modern women to be headstrong, independent and in charge of their sexuality. What's inspiring about Sex and the City is it teaches us to value our friendships. No girl will ever be alone, lonely, drunk (too much Cosmo?), broke (too much shopping?), heartbroken or depressed when she has fabulous friends that will help and cheer her up.

The movie will follow the adventures of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha as they live their lives in Manhattan after the series ended four years ago. The original TV cast, which includes Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Catrall and Kristin Davis, will reprise their roles with the addition of Jennifer Hudson who'll play as Carrie's assistant, a new character. The film is written and directed by Michael Patrick King who was the executive producer of the TV series.
